Suspected DUI driver injures 2 officers

March 14, 2009 (CHICAGO) According to a Jefferson Park District officer, the squad car was headed east on Irving Park Road near New England Avenue about 1:25 a.m. when a suspected drunk driver cut off and crashed into the police car.

Both officers suffered injuries that are not life threatening.

One officer suffered a separated shoulder, and another officer was hospitalized with neck and back pain.

The driver, identified as David Gill, 42, is charged with DUI and several other misdemeanors. He was taken into custody Saturday.
