March 16, 2009 (LAKE IN THE HILLS, Ill.) --Fire crews worked for more than two hours to control a 100-acre brush fire in the northwestern suburbs. The fire started Sunday afternoon in Lake in the Hills. Flames started in the southwestern corner of Fen Nature Preserve, then spread through the park.
No people or animals were injured.
Eight fire departments responded to the blaze, along with the McHenry County Conservation District Police and police from Algonquin and Lake in the Hills.
