Luck of the Irish? 70-degrees in March

March 17, 2009 (CHICAGO) Call it the luck of the Irish!

"It's beautiful. Who expected this on St. Patrick's Day in Chicago, right?" said Julie Summers

"Last year it was a little wet. But today, you know, 70 degrees, can't beat it," said Mike Ramiro.

The temperature hit 74-degrees on Tuesday, tying a record set in 1894. St. Patrick's Day revelers took advantage- and showed off their green attire. No need to cover it up. No need for a coat.

"I never used to wear green on St. Patrick's Day, but I actually own green now, and it's a sweater that I love," said Amanda Wezeman.

"I was feeling festive and our whole office was doing it, so I thought why not," said Jillian London.

The official start of Spring is still four days away, but Tuesday's warm temperatures, sunny skies and St. Patrick's Day celebrations gave people plenty of reasons to enjoy the weather.

But, don't put up that coat quite yet. Temperatures are headed back down into the 50s this week.
