Ill. AG warns about stimulus scams

March 17, 2009 Lisa Madigan says many offers to help consumers cash-in on the government's stimulus package are fraudulent and should be avoided.

Madigan says these types of scams are likely to increase. She's urging consumers to contact her office's consumer fraud hotline with any questions or concerns. That number is 800-386-5438.

Consumers who believe they have been the victim of consumer fraud can download a complaint form at http://www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/consumers/ or call the Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Hotline at one of the following numbers:
