Cameron Karshna, 31, was struck as the truck driver made a left turn. The driver was cited for failing to yield the right of way and for failing to wear a seatbelt.
Karshna was a four-year veteran of the department's Town Hall tactical unit.
"He was just the friendliest guy. He didn't have a bad word to say about anybody," said Diane Everett, neighbor.
"He would always spend a lot of time with my kids, showing them his motorcycles, and he had such a wonderful spirit about him. And that's especially what we're going to miss," said Jennifer Reed, neighbor.
Police say the truck driver was cited for failing to yield the right of way and for failing to wear a seatbelt.
