March 22, 2009 (CHICAGO) --A parolee was charged with reckless conduct Sunday night after a fake grenade caused a commotion on Chicago's far South Side.Officers went to a home near East 107th Street and South Wentworth to follow up on a report of a person with a gun. Once there, 41-year-old Andre Jeans reportedly led police on a foot chase and apparently tossed the device.
The police bomb and arson section determined the grenade was a fake. Witnesses told police Jeans was trying to sell the phony grenade on the street before he was arrested.
Police did not find a gun.
