The crowd cheered after the Bulls named Sergeant David Obray honorary team captain at Tuesday's game against the Pistons.Sergeant Obray is an army reserve soldier who was named the army's Soldier of the Year for 2008. He said he's amazed by all the support Chicago has shown him, including Tuesday's tribute.
"It's not often that soldiers get an opportunity to have duty like this, so I'm very grateful and proud to be representing our soldiers tonight," said Sgt. David Obray, 2008 Soldier of the Year.
Sergeant Obray is a native of Minnesota. He's assigned to a unit in north suburban Deerfield.
