March 30, 2009 --The woman charged in the death of a suburban nursing home patient pleaded not guilty on Monday morning.Heidi Leon worked as a nursing assistant at the Arbor of Itasca. She's charged with criminal neglect in the death of 89-year-old Sarah Wentworth. In February, Wentworth was found outside the nursing home in below freezing temperatures. She later died.
Leon is accused of failing to investigate when a door alarm sounded. Leon is being held on bond. She's due back in court on May 4.
