NLRB: Republic Windows violated labor laws

March 30, 2009 The closure caused a six-day worker sit-in that made national headlines.

An investigation by the National Labor Relations Board has determined that Republic failed to bargain in good faith with the unionized workforce.

The NLRB is recommending a settlement.

So far, there has been no immediate reaction from representatives of Republic.

Meanwhile, the plant has been sold to a California company that has plans to reopen the facility and to rehire the 250 employees.
