Summer airfares expected to be cheaper

If you can afford it, airfares are expected to be cheaper for the summer travel months. Due to the recession, airlines have cut fares dramatically for Memorial Day weekend. The traditional start to summer travel.

According to the Web site Travelocity, domestic round-trip tickets are down 10 percent from last year to an average of $295.

Some domestic flights are down as much as 18 percent. Fares for international travel are down 14 percent to an average of $610 for a round-trip ticket.
