Samoa Chunk Blondies

April 13, 2009 12 tablespoons ( 1 ½ sticks) Butter, melted
1 ¼ cup Dark brown sugar, firmly packed
1 ¼ cup Light brown sugar, firmly packed
2 Eggs
1 ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 ½ cup All purpose flour
15 Girl scouts samoa cookies, chopped
1 cup walnuts, lightly toasted

Butter an 8x8 pan Place melted butter and brown sugars in a mixing bowl. Beat until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Remove bowl from mixer and fold in flour. Mix in cookies and toasted nuts Bake at 350 for 15 minutes until set. Cool and cut into squares

If you don't have Girl Scout cookies, Chef Malika recommends these substitutions in the dessert recipes:

  • Girl Scout Thin Mints / Keebler Fudge Shoppe Grasshopper
  • Girl Scout Caramel De-Lites / Little Debbie German Chocolate Cookie Rings OR you can just add coconut and
  • chopped up pieces of caramel square candies to the blondies.
  • Girl Scout Shortbread / Lorna Doones
  • Girl Scout Do-Si-Dos / Keebler Fudge Shoppe Peanut Butter Filled Cookies - OR - Nutter Butter
