Post Office Hours on April 15

April 15, 2009 (PRESS RELEASE) Haven't sent your taxes in? You're not alone. According to a statement released by the USPS, typically, 20 percent of all Americans wait until the last week to file their returns. To help procrastinators, Northern Illinois District Post Offices offer these services:

The following Post Offices offer regular full Window Services until 7 p.m.:

Addison, Algonquin East Branch, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Elgin, Elgin West Side, Glen Ellyn, Lombard, Lombard Yorktown, Mt.Prospect, Northlake, Oak Park Park Ridge, Rockford / Loves Park, Rockford Main, Schaumburg, Villa Park, Westchester, Wheaton, Wheaton-Danada, Wood Dale, Woodfield Station.

On April 15, mail will be collected at 11:59 p.m. from collection box locations outside the Processing and Distribution Centers and postmarked with the April 15 cancellation:

Carol Stream P&DC, Palatine P&DC, Rockford P&DC 500 E Fullerton Ave, 1300 E Northwest Highway, 5225 Harrison Carol Stream IL 60188, Palatine IL 60095, Rockford IL 6112.

The following Post Offices have an Automated Postal Center Available 24/7*:

Algonquin, Arlington Heights, Belvidere, Bloomingdale, Buffalo Grove, Carol Stream, Cary, Crystal Lake, Deerfield, DeKalb, Des Plaines, Elgin-Westside, Elk Grove Village, Elmhurst Glen Ellyn, Glenview, Gurnee, Hoffman Estates Itasca, Lake Zurich McHenry, Mt. Prospect, Mundelein, Northbrook, Palatine, Prospect Heights, Rockford/Loves Park Rockford Main Round Lake, Roselle, Schaumburg, Vernon Hills, Villa Park, Wheaton, Wheaton, Danada, Wilmette, Winnetka, Woodfield Station.

*Automated Postal Centers provide many of the products and services available at a Post Office retail window including First Class stamps, certified mail with return receipt, and delivery confirmation.
