Lack of sleep may cause other issues in cancer patients

April 16, 2009 Researchers found that more than a quarter of the 11,000 people receiving cancer treatment at a Memphis clinic had severe to moderate trouble sleeping. The study suggests that interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy aimed at eliminating the sleep issues could decrease the pain and fatigue of people who have cancer.

The study is in Thursday's Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine.
