Luxury dining on a budget

The show at the Rosemont Convention Center will feature wine, food, private aircraft, jewelry, fashion, automobile, boats. Most are out the range of the average pocket book, but the show will encourage dreamers to decide how to spend their potential lottery winnings.

At the center of the Expo floor, the Luxury Living Pavilion will be the focal point for cooking demonstrations, where Chef Julius of a Tale of Two Chefs www.taleoftwochefs.com present two cooking sessions. Food samples will be distributed during the demonstrations from April 24 through April 26 at Donald J. Stevens Convention Center in Rosemont. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

Chef Julius will be preparing several decadent dishes at the expo including Duck Confit Crostini with Brie, Caramelized Shallot, Micro Fennel and Truffle Oil; Grilled Flat Iron Steak with Wild Mushroom Jus, Cherry Demi Glaze and Micro Cilantro, and Caribbean Dusted Wild Boar Tenderloin with Mango & Carrot Drizzle and Tarragon. He's shared those recipes (below) with ABC 7. But he says you can modify the recipes to stretch your food dollar without compromising flavor.

Chef Julius will also being presenting a free cooking demonstration at Bloomingdales on Saturday, May 16. He will prepare light and flavorful dishes using the French and Asian inspired "sweet heat" technique. These savory dishes are easy to prepare and are sure to add spice to your dining experience.
