Aspirin link to lower diabetes risk?

April 21, 2009 A new study in the American Journal of Medicine suggests there is an association between aspirin use and a decreased risk of developing type-2 diabetes.

Researchers say these types of studies are limited.

They found men who reported taking any aspirin were 14 percent less likely to develop diabetes compared with those who did not take aspirin.

Scientists say a decreased risk of type-2 diabetes may now be added to the list of clinical benefits of aspirin but future studies are warranted to further investigate this association.
