Alinea ranks 10th in top world restaurants in 2009

April 21, 2009 The S. Pelligrino listing of the world's best eateries ranks Chicago's Alinea, 1723 North Halsted, at Number 10. A big jump from last year- when it was ranked Number 21.

While that Chicago restaurant moved up the list, another one has fallen off. Charlie Trotters, also in Lincoln Park, did not make the list for the first time since 2002, when S. Pelligrino first began rankings.

The top three restaurants are all European: El Bulli in Spain, The Fat Duck in England, and Noma of Denmark. Complete List of Top 50
