Pedestrian struck, killed by Metra train

Service on Metra's Union Pacific North Line was interrupted Thursday because a train struck and killed a pedestrian.It happened just south of the Rogers Park station at Thome and Ravenswood Thursday night.

The train was headed to Waukegan.

The CTA was honoring passengers tickets on the Red and Purple Lines Thursday.

Metra Union Pacific North outbound trains traveling to Waukegan and Kenosha were operating up to 110 minutes behind schedule but have returned to normal.
