The 5K walk began at the Promenade Bolingbrook. Walking events took place at several other sites, as well.
Weather conditions were not ideal, and falling rain got some walkers a little wet. However, at last word, the event raised more than $45,000.
Chicago area residents 'March for Babies'
April 26, 2009 (CHICAGO) ABC7 Chicago's Jim Rose was the master of ceremonies for the event, which raises money for the March of Dimes to help prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
