The arrests came as part of a yearlong investigation into drug activity on campus.
The suspects include Paul Gustek of Niles, Dylan Joyce of Oak Park, Kristopher Nance and Stefan Logan - both from Chicago, Michael Glink of suburban Deerfield, Alex Hayman from Buffalo Grove and Jacob Viner of Northbrook.
Police say those arrested were not working together. A university spokesperson says the students could be expelled.
