Teen cop impersonator accused of stealing car

May 4, 2009 (CHICAGO) He has now been charged with possession of a stolen car.

In January, investigators say the 14-year-old walked into the Grand Crossing station and claimed he had been assigned to traffic patrol. The teenager signed out a radio and joined another officer in a patrol car for five hours.

Police say he was arrested on Friday when an officer noticed he was driving a car without license place. He crashed the car and was arrested as he tried to run away.

The teen is being held in the juvenile detention center.
