DuPage board pres. explores governor bid

May 6, 2009 The Republican says he wants to make state government more efficient and accountable.

Schillerstrom points to his experience running DuPage County, making him qualified for the state's highest office.

"If you take the way we've run DuPage county and contrast it with state of Illinois we have actually cut property taxes seven out of the last 10 years. We have looked for efficiencies whenever our revenues didn't meet our expenditures, something that the state never thinks of," said Bob Schillerstrom, DuPage Co. Board president.

Republican state senators Bill Bradey and Matt Murphy have also said they're thinking about a run for governor.
