The CTA will soon start texting and emailing customers with bus times.The CTA Bus Tracker- a web-based program that uses GPS- provides customers with estimated bus arrival times. Starting on May 18, CTA customers can sign up to receive scheduled e-mails and text messages about their bus routes.
The program can be set for various bus routes, bus stops, and directions of travel, according to a release from the CTA. Also, the messages will be sent within a designated timeframe at intervals of 5 to 30 minutes.

Also on Monday, the agency announced it activated the 20 remaining regularly scheduled buses to the Bus Tracker Web site. They, too, will be available on May 18.
