The victim has been identified as Joseph Lapalme of West Blumfield, Michigan. Police say the 24-year-old was attempting to cross to the other side of Lake Shore Drive when he was hit by a small, red car.
The right, front end of the vehicle struck the man and continued driving.
No one was in custody Saturday evening.
Police are investigating the deadly accident.
