Chicago police say they've located the mother of a young boy who was found wandering the streets and taken to a children's hospital for observation.A concerned citizen reported the child to police Saturday at about 8 a.m. in the 9100 block of South Drexel. Police later said they'd located the boy's mother and the two would be reunited at University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital, where the boy was taken for observation.
The boy is about 4 years old. He is 3 feet tall and weighs 50 pounds.
He was wearing a navy blue and red hooded jacket, blue jeans, sandals with socks and a white, green and blue polo shirt.
It was unclear Saturday evening how the boy got out of his house or how long he had been walking around the South Side neighborhood before he was found.
