Boil order for Highwood

The city manager's office says the boil notice is for homes in the area of Highwood bordered by Sard Place, High Street and South Central and Michigan avenues.

A construction project in the area forced the water main to be shut down Monday.

The EPA requires that the water main be recharged and water samples be taken before the water can be used again for consumption.

That's expected to take about 48-hours. The water boil notice should be lifted sometime Wednesday afternoon.
