Ill. Senate approves notoriety law

The Illinois state senate has voted unanimously in favor of a new law to block convicted public officials from profiting from their notoriety.Former governor Rod Blagojevich and wife Patti have been making promotional media rounds for her appearance on a TV reality show in her husband's place.

On Friday morning, she said this is a way to provide for her family.

The new legislation has to be signed by Governor Pat Quinn.

A public relations firm for Rod Blagojevich calls the measure patently unconstitutional.
