Officer stabbed outside South Side bank

A man reportedly stabbed a Chicago police officer because he was upset over his bank balance. It happened Friday morning outside a chase bank in the 4800-block of South Ashland.

Officers went there to check out a report of a suspicious person. According to initial reports, the man stabbed the officer because he was upset over his low bank balance. Investigators are still trying to sort out the motive.

The officer was not seriously hurt.

No charges have been filed.
