May 28, 2009 (QUAD CITIES) --A truck driver dropped thousands of gallons of paint on I-80 Thursday. The man was near the Quad Cities when he lost control of his truck and spilled the fast-drying paint- which was supposed to be used to paint stripes along Illinois roadways. The paint coated the grass near the accident scene.
The paint is water-based so it's not considered a pollutant.
The truck driver was not hurt, but will be ticketed.
