June 1, 2009 --More online travel agencies are making it cheaper to book flights. Travelocity, Cheap tickets and Orbitz say they have permanently dropped booking fees for domestic and international airfares. They follow Expedia which dropped the fees last week.
People are cutting back on travel during the recession.
The online sites are reducing prices in hopes attracting business from customers who book directly from airline Web sites or go to travel agents.
