June 3, 2009 (CHICAGO) --Chicago is one of eight cities that held vigils on Wednesday night calling for the release of two American journalists who are about to go on trial in North Korea.A crowd of people gathered in Chinatown at sunset. ABC7's Linda Yu was among the participants.
At the time of the vigil thousands of miles away, the trial of Laura Ling and Euna Lee was set to begin.
The two journalists were arrested March 17 near the North Korean border.
North Korea's government has accused them of committing "hostile acts."
