Report: Possible layoffs for 300 city workers

Chicago crossing guards, detention aides and traffic control aides may be facing layoffs.The Service Employees International Union Local 73 said the city's Department of Human Resources told them layoff notices will go out this week to 293 workers.

The cuts would be effective July 1.

The union said it was told the jobs would be taken over by Chicago police officers.

The City of Chicago Budget Office told ABC7 it has not sent out any layoff notices.
