Brown was taken into custody and charged as a result of interviews with police and physical evidence recovered at the scene.
It is unclear what the relationship between Brown and Wedward was.
Man charged with murder, sex assault
June 9, 2009 Early Tuesday morning, officials were called to the home of the suspect, Thomas Brown, 39, where they found the victim, Vitriza M. Wedward, with numerous contusions. She was taken to McHenry Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
