June 15, 2009 (CHICAGO) --
Chicago police shot and wounded a 14-year-old boy and took a 13-year-old boy into custody Monday morning. Officers were responding to a burglary alarm at a neighborhood school in the 2300-block of South Wocott when they confronted the two teenagers inside the building at 4:30 a.m.
Officers fired on the older boy, striking him in the leg after he allegedly pointed a gun at them.
Both boys managed to run away but were later caught. Police are questioning the other teenager in the case. The wounded teen is expected to be OK.
The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating.
