First-class ticket sales down

June 17, 2009 More people are apparently choosing to sit in the back of the plane.

Sales of first class seat are down by 22 percent since last year and revenue from those travelers is almost half what it was a year ago.

The International Air Transport Association says more people are buying cheaper tickets.

Coach ticket sales are up .3 of a percent in April. That may not sound like much but it's a big improvement from a first quarter decline of nearly 7 percent.
