The Brown Sisters Launch New CD

June 29, 2009 The Gospel singers are the talented children of Pastor Ben and Alberta Brown. Zachary, Vanessa, Phyllis, Lavette, and twins Adrienne and Andrea started singing together before they started school and received music lessons from their father. After the untimely death of their only brother, Zachary, the group, formerly known as The Brown Singers became The Brown Sisters.

The Brow Sisters www.thebrownsisters.com have performed together for many years, singing their sweet harmonies at various local churches, schools, businesses, neighborhood and community organizations. They have served as special guest artist for Chicago political events and campaigns, the NAACP, as well as homeless shelters and Cook County Jail. They have appeared at Chicago's Gospel Fest and the New Orleans Jazz Festival. They have toured through Europe many times, receiving the award for Best Gospel/Jazz Record in France in 2001.

They have been privileged to share the stage with such artists as: Aretha Franklin, Walter Hawkins, Bobby McPherrin, Kim Burrell, The Clark Sisters, Albertina Walker, Donnie McClurkin, Pop & Mavis Staples, Donald Lawrence, Shirley Caesar, Hezekiah Walker, Dottie Peoples and Rance Allen. From 1993 to 1999, the sisters were permanent support vocalists for many artists for the nationally syndicated television show, "Testify". They've also appeared on Willie Wilson's "Singsation" television show.
