Chicago police say they shot a suspect accused of firing at officers after a botched robbery on the West Side.Officers say they pulled over a car that was driving erratically near Madison and Whipple. Two men got out and fled on foot; a third drove off in the vehicle.
Police say one of the offenders pulled a gun and fired at an officer, who then shot the suspect in the leg. Another suspect was caught nearby.
A firearm was recovered from the scene, police say. The officer was not hurt, and the injured suspect was taken to the hospital.
