July 10, 2009 (CHICAGO) A 70-year-old man reported that a man attempted to steal his wallet in the restroom of a Wendy's at North Damen and West Lawrence around 2 p.m. Tuesday. As the alleged robber fled, police say, a 24-year-old Wendy's employee tried to stop him and was struck in the head.
Police arrived while the suspect struggled with the employee and arrested the suspect.
Darryl Ray, 21, was charged with attempted robbery, aggravated battery and aggravated battery to a peace officer.
The 24-year-old employee was treated and released at Swedish Covenant Hospital.
