A Gary law firm is representing several of the victims, including a woman who was tossed into the lake beneath the bridge along with her eleven-year-old son and two godchildren, both three years old.
Dian Markham searched frantically for the children as other people fell on top of her.
A good Samaritan pulled out her son, and the godchildren's father, Archie Taylor, jumped into the water to save them.
"I think it was as a result of the instinctual intuition of everybody involved, and people like Archie came to the rescue, and as a result no one died," attorney Robert Lewis said. Lewis' firm, Robert Lewis and Associates, is planning to file a lawsuit.
