Purdue including Armstrong papers in space exhibit

July 15, 2009 (WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.) Armstrong is a 1955 Purdue graduate and has been giving some of his personal papers to the university's archives.

The first of those items, ranging from college homework assignments to space mission logs, will be part of an exhibit "Purdue's Place in Space" that runs Monday through Oct. 30.

Purdue archives director Sammie Morris says his staff is taking great care with Armstrong's papers. But he says they've not been able to find a Purdue flag Armstrong took with him to the moon and gave to the school years ago.
