Tkachik's attorney filed a motion to sever his case from Castillo's. The judge is taking the request under advisement.
Man pleads not guilty in murder of 2-year-old

Tim Tkachik is accused, along with his girlfriend, Engelica Castillo, in the June 13th beating death of young Jada Justice. The two were babysitting the child and allegedly disposed of the girl's body in a swamp in LaPorte County.
