July 21, 2009 (SAUK VILLAGE, Ill.) --
Police dogs in the far south suburbs sniffed out $2.5 million in marijuana before it hits the streets. Officers found the drugs at a freight terminal on Lincoln Highway in Sauk Village. They say a trailer was giving off a marijuana odor.
Police dogs were brought in --- and they found 505 pounds of the drug inside. The marijuana was wrapped in plastic and coffee grounds to throw off the dogs' scent.
Police say the trailer was a shipment from Arizona.
There have been no arrests in the case.
