Lighter in bra may have saved woman's life

A woman in Hammond, Ind., may owe her life to a cigarette lighter. Police say Toni Huber and some friends were waiting by an alley near 141st and Wabash in North Hammond when two men allegedly robbed them at gunpoint.

Shots were fired as the offenders drove off.

One of the bullets hit Huber in the chest where she had tucked a cigarette lighter into her bra. Police say the lighter exploded, causing a burn on Huber's chest. But authorities think the lighter prevented the bullet from striking her vital organs.
