They found the newborn lying on the ground. Today Logan and his wife Margie received the Citizen Award.
Their dog was named an honorary K-9.
The family is happy and hopeful for the baby.
"It's a nice feeling. I'm glad. Now he'll get a chance. You know, hopefully get adopted by a nice family," Margie Logan said.
Wheaton police say the baby is doing fine and remains in the care of the Department of Children and Family Services.
The mother has been charged with endangering the health or life of a child.
