July 29, 2009 (CHICAGO) --The city honored a Chicago police officer who was killed in the line of duty in June.Chicago aldermen offered their condolences to the family of Alejandro Valadez. On Wednesday, the alderman approved a resolution honoring him.
The 27-year old was shot and killed while investigating reports of gunfire in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood.
Valadez had been on the police department for three years.
Two suspected gang members are now charged with his murder.
