President Morial was mayor of New Orleans for two four-year terms (1994 to 2002, before Katrina struck). And for the last two years of his second term, he was also president of the United States Conference of Mayors. And this year he was appointed chairman of the U.S. Census Bureau's 2010 Advisory Committee.
A key theme of the league's conference in Chicago will be The State of Black America. We'll focus on that and other issues.
