July 31, 2009 (CHICAGO) --Police in west suburban Oak Park are warning residents about a rash of burglaries that took place this week while homeowners were sleeping at home. Four homes were burglarized Wednesday in an area between Division Street to the north and Chicago Avenue to the south, and between Ridgeland and Oak Park Avenues to the east and west.
The burglaries occurred between 2 and 6 a.m.
In some cases, the thief or thieves entered the homes through unlocked doors or screen doors. Oak Park police are reminding residents to lock their doors and windows at night.
