Police: Suspect has 61 shoplifting arrests

August 3, 2009 (CHICAGO) Chicago police describe 86-year-old Ella Orko as a career shoplifter.

Orko was arrested Sunday afternoon after she allegedly took several items from a grocery store on the city's North Side. Police said the merchandise, which included salmon, batteries and face creams, totaled more than $250. Another customer reported seeing Orko put the items in her clothing before attempting to leave the store, according to officials.

Orko has been arrested 61 times for shoplifting. Her first arrest in Chicago was in 1956.

Orko has 13 shoplifting convictions.
