The mother of a University of Illinois student killed in a hit-and-run crash last year is suing the Chicago White Sox and a Joliet bar.Melissa Lech died last August. She was found lying in the eastbound lanes of McDonough Street in front of the Illinois Youth Center Correction Facility.
In the suit, Maria Lech alleges White Sox vendors allowed the 20-year-old to buy and drink alcohol at the game. She believes they did not check her ID.
The lawsuit also names the Joliet bar, which allegedly over-served the driver who struck Melissa.
