Induced labor for women with hypertension

August 5, 2009 9:23:12 AM PDT
Researchers recommend induced labor after 37 weeks for pregnant women with mild hypertension disorders. Researchers in the Netherlands studied a group of pregnant women with gestational hypertension or mild preeclampsia.

Findings show women who had induced labor had a 29 percent lower risk for developing poor maternal outcome.

Also, women who had induced labor had fewer c-sections than those in the monitored group.
