Second Skokie home invasion this week

August 8, 2009 (SKOKIE, IL) Sources at the scene say two intruders forced their way into the home and pistol-whipped a woman and her daughter.

This is the second home invasion in Skokie this week. On Monday morning two men forced their way into a home in the 4200-block of Suffield Court.

Police say a man posing as a UPS driver knocked on the door and asked for a pen. He and another man then forced the victim into his home, tied him up with duct tape, and then ransacked the home. The men also stole an SUV.

The victim in that case was not hurt. He was able to free himself and call police.

So far there is no indication from police that the two incidents are related.
